Hi there, Jodie Crane here,

I grew up in southern Michigan in a rural, farming area (New Boston). My mom was an avid gardener as her parents were also. Growing food and eating it was the way. I have very early memories of times in the garden and baby pictures of dirt all over my face! I love the smell of the earth!

At age six my one and only sibling (brother) was adopted. I was so excited to be a big sister! He was my real life doll baby.

Which brings me to my biggest dream of being a mom. I have seven children (all adults) spanning the U.S. from the New york Islands to the Redwood Forests. Yes, just like the song. As of yet no grand children. But that's another dream I have. Children are just amazing! I've learned so much from being a mom and still am! So how much more will I gain from being a grandmother!?

Getting back to the smell of the earth...I can hardly wait to dig in the dirt again! It's such a wonderful way to unwind after work or just anytime. Picking flowers and arranging them is such a gift for the home or friends (a gift from God). I also enjoy canning and preserving food, a skill my mom and grandmothers taught me. We also raise chickens for eating and layers for delicious eggs.

I am a dental assistant 3 days a week and love my job and coworkers! I truly love to be home though. We live in the middle of the woods in northern lower peninsula of Michigan (East Jordan). We have a creek out back and wild Morel mushrooms in the spring!

My husband and I also care for my mom who has Alzheimers disease. She's on Hospice Care which has been an incredible blessing and support! I am so grateful to have the opportunity to care for her! I'm able to give back just a bit for all her care for me over the years.

God is good! All the time!

Jodie Crane
